Roland T. Woodson Jr.
Roland T. Woodson Jr. is a mission-driven educator and leadership coach with nearly two decades of experience transforming schools and supporting the people who lead them. His career began in Memphis, TN as an elementary teacher, where he quickly gained a reputation for building strong relationships, creating high-energy classrooms, and driving student achievement, especially in schools previously labeled as underperforming.
Roland went on to serve in multiple leadership roles, including principal, where his urgent and intentional leadership helped guide a priority school to dramatic gains in proficiency, teacher retention, and school culture. His belief that equity begins with how students experience teaching has anchored every role he’s held since from coaching school leaders nationwide with CT3 to designing systems that develop strong instructional leadership at every level.
At the heart of Roland’s work is a commitment to helping leaders see beyond compliance and manage with clarity, care, and courage. His coaching centers on real-time feedback, culturally responsive practices, and fostering environments where students and adults alike are challenged and supported.
Roland holds a B.S. from Tuskegee University, an M.A.T. from the University of Memphis, and an Instructional Leadership License from the state of Tennessee. He lives in Memphis with his wife and their three sons. When he’s not supporting school leaders, you can find him digging through his father's jazz collection, showing up for his son's high school band performances, or celebrating his oldest son's transition to Jackson State University.
